Anna Karenina and Sherlock

This week, I've been listening to Anna Karenina on audiobook. It makes the 40 minute round trip to work go by much faster, and audiobooks are wonderful when I'm working on more complicated knitting projects like these Sherlock inspired socks. The pattern is "To Knit While Bored" and you can get it for free on Ravelry.

Also: reality? I took these photos on a piece of paper at my desk. A blogger has to do what a blogger has to do.

  5. It's one of those books that I'm not quite sure whether or not I LIKE it, but it is very interesting. I'm not super far into it yet. Anna just found out she's pregnant.

  8. Thank you! I've been rediscovering audiobooks (I used to listen to them all the time when I was little) and I love listening to them while commuting to work.

  9. SAME. Tolstoy is my favorite author of all time. Personally I think War and Peace is far superior, but Anna Karenina just held me in. Even though I didn't feel like I was particularly ENJOYING it, I had to keep reading. It has its own strange charm.

  10. Anna Karenina is actually my first Tolstoy (War and Peace is also on my endless to-read list) and I'm enjoying his writing so far, for sure. I definitely get what you mean about how it pulls you in even though you don't necessarily enjoy it.
